Motor third party liability insurance for motor vehicle owners is compulsory insurance applicable when the owner or driver of a vehicle causes damage to other persons and, in accordance with applicable law, is liable for it.
The Green Card is an International Certificate of Insurance and it proves that its holder is covered by motor third party liability insurance in accordance with the laws of any country visited which belongs to the Green Card System
Any holder of a motor vehicle registered in a country other than the Multilateral Agreement countries is obliged, on entering any of the above-mentioned countries without a valid Green Card certificate, to conclude, prior to the crossing of the frontier, a contract of insurance against civil liability of motor insurance holders - a so-called frontier insurance.
